As Moms We Need Motherhood Humor. Sometimes If We Don't Laugh, We'll Cry!

Are you feeling overwhelmed with life, exhausted, close to tears?

Some motherhood humor may be just what you need!

They say that laughter is the best medicine, and I believe it.

How many times have you felt yourself get upset, overwhelmed, even angry, only to have one of your kids do something so off the wall and surprising that you just had to laugh?

Just when you think you can't take anymore, they do something so hilarious that you forget all about what was bugging you in the first place.

Sometimes we don't laugh enough as moms. We spend so much time taking care of everything, I don't know about you, but I tend to get kind of crabby. We really need to laugh, it does lift your spirits.

Did you ever notice that in the rare case you do get to go out with your friends, you laugh more? Especially if your friend is a mom.

When I go out with my sister, it seems like all we do is laugh and be silly. I guess spending so much time with kids, their behavior tends to rub off on us a little. Plus we're always the ones being the 'serious' adults, everyone needs to cut loose once in awhile.

As moms, we have our own style of humor, one that the average person just doesn't usually understand. Motherhood humor is something that every mom gets, although to the outside world, people sometimes wonder what's so funny.

When you've just given your kids a bath and you walk in the room to find them covered in lip gloss, you really want to be upset. You may even start to yell.

But the sight of your kids looking like clowns is just too funny, the laughter starts flowing! (Of course I'm talking from personal experience!)

Or when while on vacation you hand your toddler a bowl of crackers to snack on in the hotel room and she immediately dumps them all on the bed and starts chowing them down, sitting in the middle of the pile like a queen, you have to laugh. That, and kick yourself for handing her the whole bowl!

Having children definitely makes us realize a few things. Messes can be cleaned up, dirt doesn't kill you (even when digested,) and you can always repaint the walls.

The laughter that comes out of our life experiences we have as moms is well worth the work we have to do to rectify the situation.

I think motherhood humor is best summed up as laughing at our situation, no matter how frustrating it may seem. It helps us to not only look on the bright side, but to survive motherhood.
